Calpendo uses a range of techniques such as permissions, rules and time templates to monitor who can make a booking, when they can make it and against which resources they can make that booking. Depending on the technique an error message will often be supplied on the screen which will indicate an initial reason as to why you are unable to make a booking. Bookings are often restricted on the basis of:
- When you made your booking during the day: some facilities operate open and closed times which only allow bookings during set times.
- Duration of the booking: there may be a broad rule in your facility that bookings should not exceed a specific amount of time or your booking duration could be dictated by what's allowed by the project you are booking against.
- Your role or current user group membership: how your user account is defined can also have an affect on what you are allowed to do. For example users tagged with a specific user type may have additional permissions over another user type.
- How many bookings you have already made: sometimes a facility has restrictions, which can be based on a project you are booking against, on how many bookings you are making during a set period.
If you are still unsure as to why you are unable to make a booking contact your local administrator within your facility as they will have an understanding of what sort of rules have been setup on your system.
