Context: In some situations it may be useful to be able to manually send emails to Calpendo users.  


Suitable for: Admins 


Objective: Enable email button for lists of users.  This is a server wide setting.


Steps for setup:

  1. Login to Calpendo using an account with 'Admin' role.
  2. Go to the menu item 'Admin > Global Preferences.
  3. Choose 'Buttons'
  4. Check the option 'Send Email' and save.
How to use:
  1. Go to 'Admin/User search' to display a list of users on the Calpendo.  The button will appear at the bottom of the list so if you have a long list you will need to scroll down.   
  2. Select which users you wish to send an email by clicking next to their name
  3. On the button 'Email checked' click the drop down.  There are three options present in this example but there may be other email options in that list depending on what is setup for the list of users you are currently on.
    1. Email: this will send an email to all users regardless of whether their account is suspended or expired
    2. Self: this will send an email to only those users with active accounts
    3. UserType: If you select a single user with a user type of 'Biologist' this option will send an email to all other users of the same user type
  4. This will display a standard email form with subject, message fields etc. The recipients you selected will be added to the BCC for the email.
